So we are scouting out to add more travelers looking to make Safari trips to Kenya & wanna share costs, and who are interested in twin-sharing accommodation (i.e. a room with 2 single beds).

The upside to this is that you do not have to do any research/planning to make the trip happen - since they have pretty much been completed, vetted through, and journey is designed to coincide with early birds or the migration event.

Kenya volunteer Monthly projects

Known as the “Great Missions & Volunteer Escape”,Ciatlux Communities Welfare with Ciatlux Travel is looking for driven youths & adults who don't just want to volunteer in a foreign country for a couple of weeks and leave, but want to take action to leave a mark that can have an impact for years to come. Does this sound like you? Then you still have plenty of time to sign up for one of the organization's monthly programs.

We work with volunteers outside of Nairobi to facilitate child-care programs.

Childcare

Due to the high incidences of poverty and illness, childcare centers in Kenya can host 50 to 300 children at any one time and there is always high demand for volunteer assistance. 

Volunteers on the Childcare project in Kenya are placed in a range of orphanages and childcare centers, some of which house and foster abandoned and orphaned children, some that have schools attached, and others where volunteers live at the centers full time. 

Each center accommodates children of differing ages, however volunteers generally work with children between the ages of 1 to 16 years old. Placements can include pre-schools, baby daycare centers and orphanage centers. 

Whether the children are at home or at school, the centers are always busy, and volunteers can help with all areas of daily activity. Tasks can include teaching, cooking, cleaning, feeding, washing, and caring for the children, in addition to entertaining and playing with them.

 Volunteers live together in either sharing a flat,room,hostel,hall or a home just outside of the Township they are working in and are provided 3 meals a day prepared by a local cook. 

Living together isn't just an economical solution, it is meant to inspire volunteers to share ideas and strengthen the program.It is also the only route which offers sleeping huts with dormitory style accommodation. There are rooms for more than 600 volunteers in Mathare,Kibera,Githurai,Embakasi Village,Lunga Lunga,Athi river,Kitengela,Kayole,Dandora & Huruma. Guests are supplied with mattresses and pillows, but sleeping bags are still required. The huts have communal dining halls and basic washrooms, ranging from flushing toilets and running water at the lower huts to long drop toilets and buckets of water. Refreshments such as soft drinks, bottled water, and beer can be bought at the huts.

Volunteer programs range in price from $310 for 4 weeks or less  to $650 for 8 weeks.

The deadline to apply for any monthly volunteer programs is  20^th of preceding month date.

You can become involved in helping to develop communities in Kenya. With such a variety of projects this program has something to suit everyone.

You have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of under-privileged children and adults by providing ONE CLASSROOM IN TAITA TAVETA COUNTY,education and counselling in schools and orphanages, HIV education, and medical care.

Whilst sharing your knowledge and compassion with the local people, you will have a chance to make a personal contribution and connection to the people of Kenya.

Quality education for orphaned Children starts May 5th,2014

You have the opportunity to help children in need. Children who have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS, children who have been abused by their parents and children whose parents are not able to provide for them. These kids need love, attention, life skills, and education so they can have successful futures free from poverty and filled with the same opportunities as others.
As a volunteer you will be a mentor by becoming a big brother or sister to kids in a children's home. You will work alongside local staff to help with classroom teaching and homework help, childcare, and the daily operational running of the home. Volunteers are also encouraged to initiate their own work by organizing arts and crafts, music, dance, games, sports activities, and day trips for the children.
This role is suitable for a caring, motivated, and self-directed person who has a love for children and has childcare experience.

Building a classroom and then Teaching starts mayy 15th 2014

Quality education for both boys and girls is crucial in reducing poverty and promoting gender equality. Schools in Kenya are currently struggling with overcrowded classes and a lack of skilled teachers.
As a volunteer you will help to empower girls and boys by giving them the skills they need to overcome poverty and to make their voice heard. We have opportunities for volunteers to assist with teaching at preschool, primary, and secondary levels. There may also be opportunities to teach at the IDP camps.
At primary and secondary levels, volunteer teachers can teach core subjects, such as English, mathematics, science, social sciences, and can initiate extra-curricular activities.
Volunteer preschool teachers will teach basic English skills and carry out basic childcare duties.
This role is suitable for a caring, motivated, and self-directed person. A teaching qualification is not required (except for secondary teaching) but volunteers need to be confident in the above subjects and preferably have or be studying towards a university degree.

Medical/Health and

HIV/AIDSstarts June 7th 2014

Kenya has been hit hard by the HIV/AIDS epidemic with approximately 1.25 million adults and over 100,000 children infected. The aim of the HIV/AIDS program is to decrease the spread of HIV through raising awareness and education, increasing access to homecare, and providing emotional support to those affected by HIV/AIDS within the community.
Volunteers have the opportunity to work in a community HIV/AIDS organization to assist with homecare visits to HIV positive people, and educate and counsel community and school groups and individuals.
This role is suitable for a caring, motivated, and self-directed person. Medical training is not necessary for all aspects of the program, but a background in HIV/AIDS and basic health care is required.

Medical/Health

Malaria, typhoid, pneumonia, and tetanus are treatable diseases, yet many still die in Kenya as a result of not receiving proper medical care. Government-run hospitals and medical clinics are ill-equipped to handle the volume of people in need of care.
As a medically qualified volunteer you can help by sharing your medical skills and working alongside local staff to provide those in need with basic medical care. Volunteers have the opportunity to work in the areas of general medical practice, maternal health, minor surgery, and laboratory work. This role is suitable for self-directed, caring people who are medically qualified.

Medical Program: Medically qualified volunteers are needed to work in community clinics to increase access to basic healthcare and promote health education in the local community.

with other African countries, Kenya still assumes

Become a Ciatlux Travel Group Leader and enjoy the rewarding experience of leading a group of students or adults on an amazing cultural adventure abroad! and travel for free of course ! ! !

Your group will have a unique opportunity to gain intimate knowledge of the culture of Kenya you are visiting by living with welcoming host families and enjoying excellent organized cultural and recreational excursions and activities.

Group homestays are the ideal way for adults studying a language or particular culture to get the most out of an overseas travel program. Host family placement gives many more opportunities to explore the culture and language of kenya than traditional tour programs.

As a Group Leader, you will travel for free. Your round-trip, international airfare, host family accommodations, and participation in all organized activities and excursions will be covered. In addition, for each group participant over the minimum number of participants, you will earn a $100 stipend.

If you are a teacher or individual, age 25 or older, who is fluent in the language and customs of kenya to which you wish to travel, CiatluxTravel encourages you to organize a group of adults ( 15+) or adults who would like to travel with you.

Ciatlux Travel can customize your program and help determine what works best for you. By selecting from our Volunteer Community Projects, Language School classes, Professional Internships, and Independent Homestays, you can create an adventure based on true cultural immersion and experiences not found on any tour bus.

Volunteer: Looking to make a difference by donating your time to a meaningful service project in a community around Kenya? Choose from a wide variety of projects in over a dozen themes including environmental conservation, children’s welfare, community development and education.

Language School: Want to learn more than just the basics taught,all in an informal language settings? With an emphasis on conversation, your language study and practice outside the classroom will allow you to truly gain fluency unmatched by language study in your home country.

Internships: Gain international experience for the career ahead of you or in preparation for your university studies. Ciatlux Travel offers internship placements in seven towns in kenya and in a variety of fields giving you hands-on training and an insider’s perspective on another culture.

Independent Homestay: There is no better way to learn or improve your knowledge about a culture and a language than to live with a family and experience every day life first hand.

Sample Program plans:

• Take Kiswahili language classes in the heart of Mombasa for two or three months and then volunteer in the Kenya country town of Nairobi in a small local school for three months.
• Study Swahili for two months in Embu,Kenya and then travel to Mombasa, Kenya for a five month internship to gain professional work experience in your desired field of study.
• Learn many languages! Spend one month at each of our language schools in Kiswahili,kikuyu,luo,kamba,taita,luhya,Germany, Spain, Italy, and France.
• Explore South East Africa- Take one month of Swahili at our language school in Nairobi, spend two months volunteering at a turtle rescue project in Watamu, Kenya and then travel to Malindi for a one month homestay.

These are just a few of the combinations of programs you can choose from for your Program in Kenya.

Accommodations

Accommodations and meals will depend upon the programs you select for your program. Most participants will be living with carefully screened host families during their time abroad. This immersion experience will give each participant a unique perspective on daily life in another culture and will allow them to build lasting relationships founded upon cultural exchange.

Some programs offer accommodations in a shared apartment or homeresidence. Most programs include half board (2 meals per day) or full board (3 meals per day). Please contact us for further details specific to each program.

Your support system

CiatluxTravel holds the safety and well being of our participants to be of the highest importance. We provide a thorough network of support for both the participants abroad and family inKenya. Ciatlux Travel provides a 24 hour phone line in case of emergencies. Each participant will have an experienced, on-site local coordinator who is trained to work with cultural exchange participants. Your local coordinator will be available to you at all times should any difficulties or questions arise during the program.

Ciatlux Travel also covers all participants with mandatory, comprehensive medical insurance for the duration of their program.

Travel and Visa Arrangements

Upon acceptance, we will instruct you on how to make travel and visa arrangements. All travel and visa arrangements are the responsibility of the participant and need to be booked according to our instructions.

Lido Seafood Grill Lido is a Chaine de Rotisseur certified, fine dining al-fresco restaurant set amidst the palms on the beach with a stunning ocean view. It serves fresh sea-food in a variety of nouvelle cuisine dishes as well as traditional favorites like grilled prawns, lobsters and crab. The restaurant has a capacity to seat 45 people and is open daily for lunch and all days except Mondays for dinner.

Cocos Beach Bar: Situated on the beach, Cocos is the open air bar and night spot - a great place for sundowners, dancing, or just lounging beneath swaying palms with your toes in the sand. There is a DJ every night, special Salsa nights on Friday and live dance or acrobat performances on other days. Bar snacks and beverages are served all day with a special happy hour every evening. With a capacity 150 people, Cocos is open 10.00 am to midnight.

Lido Pool Bar Serves a variety of beverages to be enjoyed while relaxing in the Lido pool or in the loungers on the pool-side. Also serves an interesting menu of cocktails and mock tails to the adjoining Lido seafood restaurant.

Tulia Health Bar: Located alongside the Tranquil Pool near the Tulia Spa, the Tulia Health Bar serves light meals, salads, smoothies and freshly squeezed juices.

Tulia Spa Tulia is the Swahili word for 'relax' and the Tulia Spa at Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort is designed to help you relax and rejuvenate.
